Youga Gold Mine: Soleil Resources International, a key player in local socio-economic development
During the 2024 holiday season, BMC SA, a subsidiary of Soleil Resources International that operates the Youga gold mine, reaffirmed its commitment to local communities by providing support to internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable populations in the Zabré commune.
As part of this solidarity initiative, the company donated 20 tons of rice, valued at approximately 10 million CFA francs, to 400 beneficiaries. This humanitarian action is part of the ongoing efforts by the Youga gold mine to contribute to improving the living conditions of local populations, particularly those in precarious situations. Mr. Antoine ATTIOU, representing the mine's Managing Director, Mr. Poco TAPSOBA, emphasized that this donation is part of a comprehensive strategy aimed at supporting the socio-economic development of the region and strengthening ties with surrounding communities.
Through this initiative, BMC SA demonstrates once again its essential role as a committed partner in the sustainable and inclusive development of the Zabre municipality.
The Youga gold mine, through its social and economic initiatives, continues to play a pivotal role in promoting the well-being of local communities and reducing inequalities. Soleil Resources International and BMC SA thus reaffirm their commitment to actively contributing to the resilience and prosperity of communities, while consolidating their position as a responsible and civic-minded company.
Since its acquisition, BMC SA has completed several infrastructure projects in the Zabré municipality. These include the ongoing drilling of 16 boreholes benefiting 16 villages in the municipality at a cost of over 60 million CFA francs, the rehabilitation of the Zabre-Youga road, and support for the municipality's socio-cultural activities.
